Iris Institute Hosts Twitter Space on Digital Skills for Somali
Youth
The Iris Institute successfully hosted an
interactive X-Space event on July 2, 2025, under the theme “Somali Youth in the 21st Century and the Essential Digital
Skills.” The virtual session was led by Dr. Sharmarke Angar and Engineer
Ibrahim, both recognized experts in digital education and youth development.
The event aimed to raise awareness about the
importance of digital literacy among Somali youth and equip them with essential
skills to navigate the modern digital world.
The discussion also highlighted the importance
of understanding digital skills. Attendees gained insights from the two guests.
Moreover, the session explored emerging
digital trends, including online learning platforms, e-commerce systems, and
the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in everyday life.
The
event was part of the Iris Institute’s ongoing efforts to empower Somali youth
through technology and prepare them for the challenges and opportunities of the
digital age.
